I graduated from Wharton and possess the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Designation. I myself was an advisor for more than twenty years; employed by Bank of America, completing Lehman Brothers training program and employed by Shearson Smith Barney from which I left on a deal to Oppenheimer and then again moved to Merrill on another deal.

After becoming Vice-President at Merrill, I left to launch and operate my own independent advisory firm, Papps Capital Group, for more than a decade until transforming it into a RIA and then later selling it in the private equity market for a multiple of cash flow. I am founder and managing partner of Black Ridge where I have over ten years of experience transitioning advisors to wirehouse and regional firms as well as providing advice for transforming to independence and RIA.

 

I am a graduate from The Wharton School with a dual concentration in Finance and Decision Science and hold the CFA Designation."
